This 6-day Egypt vacation features all the main highlights in Cairo, Giza, and the top attractions in Upper Egypt as you sail down the extreme River Nile in 4 days from Aswan to Luxor.

Take an internal flight from Cairo south to Aswan, where the Nile is at its most picturesque. You also have the option to visit the amazing Abu Simbel Temple. You'll enjoy guided visits to the region's most iconic sites, including Philae Temple, High Dam, Kom Ombo, Edfu temple, Karnak and Luxor temples, the Valley of Kings, and Queen Hatshepsut temple.

Onboard, you'll enjoy a comfortable en-suite cabin with panoramic windows, a restaurant, lounge bar, a large sun deck with another bar, recliners, and a plunge pool.

The tour ends in Cairo, after a tour to the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza, and the world-famous Egyptian Museum which has a huge collection of ancient artifacts including of course, the King Tutankhamun display, old Cairo, and Khan el-Khalili Bazaar.

Itineraries

Day 1

Arrive to Cairo / transfer to hotel

Welcome to Cairo, Egypt (Around the Clock)

Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, your wonders Egypt representative will meet and assist you through the formalities and escort you to your hotel by air-conditioned deluxe vehicle. Check-in and the rest of the day is free for you to settle into your hotel and relax

Day 2

Fly to Aswan / Nile cruse tours

Breakfast at your hotel, and then you will be transferred to Cairo international airport for your flight from Cairo to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will be met & transferred to visit Aswan high dam, a rock-fill dam built across the River Nile in Aswan to control the Nile floods and produce electricity.

Continue to visit Philae Temple Island, which was almost entirely covered with temples and monuments. The three principal monuments on the island all date from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods explore the Temple of Isis, the Temple of Hathor and the Kiosk of Trajan.

After finished, you will be transferred to your Nile Cruise and check in for 4 Days 3 Nights. After Lunch on board, start to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the felucca ride on the Nile, Weather permits!

The rest of the day is free though an option is also available to enjoy a visit to the Nubian Village by Motorboat.

Day 3

Optional: Abu Simbel temple / Sail to Kom-Ombo Temple

Today enjoy breakfast and free time on board or choose an early morning optional visit to the UNESCO world heritage site of Abu Simbel temples, built by Ramses II. This is an amazing site that was completely dismantled and rebuilt when Lake Nasser was flooded.

Enjoy Lunch on board and then the cruise ship will start sailing down the Nile to Kom ombo, enjoying your time relaxing on the sun deck and watching rural Egyptian life pass by. First stop is at the beautifully situated riverside temple at Kom-ombo. This somewhat unusually styled temple is in fact a double temple, with one side being dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god and the second side dedicated to Horus – the falcon-headed Sky God. After the tour, return back to the cruise and continue sailing to Edfu & overnight at Edfu

Day 4

Edfu Temple And Luxor & Karnak temples

Today morning, you will enjoy horse and carriage ride “return way” to visit the best preserved of all Egypt’s temples. The Temple of Horus at Edfu was constructed between 237 and 57 BC. The reliefs that cover the Temple walls, columns, and doorways, constitute an extremely important source of information about ancient Egyptian religious and myths. Return back to your Nile Cruise and then sail onwards, passing through the lock on the Nile at Esna, before arriving in Luxor

Upon your arrival you will start to visit Karnak temple, the largest religious temple in Egypt built for the deity Amon-re. Entering the complex through the sphinx-lined avenue, built by Ramses II, you come to the immense pylon entrance. Inside the huge Courtyard are three chapels dedicated to the gods Amun, Mut and Khous. The remarkable Hypostyle Hall has 134 towering columns, each carved with scenes of gods, pharaohs, and hieroglyphic inscriptions adorn the walls.

Continue to visit Luxor temple, once joined to Karnak temple by almost a 3 km long avenue of sphinxes. Enter the temple through the great pylon where two enormous statues of Ramses II still stand, along with a pink granite obelisk (its mate stands in the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France). The rear part of Luxor temple was constructed by Amenhotep III and Alexander the Great rebuilt the temple sanctuary. After finished, Transfer back to your Nile Cruise for dinner and free evening to relax on board or opt for an extra tour to attend the night sound and light show at Karnak temple

Day 5

Luxor west bank / Fly Luxor to Cairo

Disembarkation after breakfast and then start your tour at the Valley of the Kings, home to the ancient burial site of the new kingdom pharaohs between 16 to 11 century B.C. The Valley of the Kings is still revealing the secrets and so it remains one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Our tour includes visiting inside 3 of these Pharaonic tombs, recommended Ramses VI, Ramses III and Merneptah tombs. Whilst here, you will have the chance to visit the tomb of Tutankhamun (Extra ticket on spot).

Continue to visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the famous female Pharaoh posed as a male to gain the throne. The temple is one of the most striking monuments in Luxor west bank. Your tour guide will introduce you to the history of the temple and the story of Queen Hatshepsut, followed by free time to explore at your leisure

Returning to Luxor there will be time for a brief photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the only remains of the funerary temple of King Amenhotep III (1386 to 1349 BC).

After finished, you will be transferred to Luxor airport for your flight from Luxor to Cairo. Where you will be met, assisted and transferred to your hotel in Cairo & free time to relax

A spectacular hot air balloon flight over the west bank of the Nile is available this morning (expect an early start to catch sunrise as the balloon rises).

Day 6

Your PGiza Pyramids and Cairo sightseeing tours / Final departurelan

Check out after breakfast and then start to visit the Giza plateau, enjoy a fantastic introduction to each of the three Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus. Explore these legendary structures up close lets you appreciate their stone masonry and awe-inspiring architectural precision. Whilst here, you have the chance to visit inside the pyramids if you wish “Extra ticket on spot”. And then, drive to enjoy the pyramids panoramic view where you can shoot fantastic photos. Proceed to visit the Valley temple and the Sphinx which still kneels gracefully as it has for thousands of years, looking toward the east with an enigmatic smile

Proceed to visit the Egyptian museum, established in 1900 and housing the most impressive collection of the ancient antiquities and pharaonic treasures in the world. Located in the heart of Cairo, the museum displays an astonishing number of objects. Accompanied by your certified Egyptologist, you’ll stroll through the halls highlighting each historical period of this ancient land. and then, enjoy free time to explore at leisure

Continue to visit Khan al Khalili bazaar, the oldest market in Cairo, you’ll enjoy free time to wander through the maze of Islamic Cairo. And then, transfer to Cairo airport for your departure flight.
